SAk shows support equality and reduces services on October 24

Akureyri hospital will show support in the participation in the women's strike on October 24th. to the extent that the health and safety of patients will be guaranteed. The majority of the staff at the Akureyri hospital in are women and we want to protect and promote equality.
Services will be reduced as it is on weekends. Managers have been encouraged to consider the organization of their units' activities on this day in consultation with staff. It must also be borne in mind that the role of the hospital is defined by law, and therefore staffing must not fall below safety standards.
No deductions will be made from the wages of staff who participate in the women's strike and attend the solidarity meeting.
Women and men in the ranks of the hospital's staff are encouraged to participate in the day.
