Review and development of the services of the day and outpatient psychiatric services SAk
9th February 2024
In recent weeks, the development and restructuring of the services of the day and walk psychiatric services in SAk has been undertaken. The reforms were thorough and well thought out and included a temporary reduction in the service.
“It has been a pleasure to experience the strength of the staff and see how much improvement can be made in a short time, which will result in clearer procedures and improved services for the future,” says Erla Björnsdóttir, Director of Human Resources.
Although the reform is still in progress, improvements are already visible, such as the development of new work processes, increased inter-disciplinary cooperation and changes in staffing. The day and outpatient ward of the psychiatric services in SAk will gradually gain momentum relative to the staffing.
“We believe in the team that is working on this project and the changes include various opportunities for development and participation in exciting projects in cooperation with other professions. In connection with this, we are calling for social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists and nurses in the emergency team in the psychiatric service, a new job to strengthen the follow-up of emergency cases within the psychiatric service. The jobs are perfect for therapists who want to face new challenges in a learning environment,” says Erla Björnsdóttir, Director of Human Resources.
