Renal Nurse Now Offering Clinic Appointments
23rd October 2025
Jóhanna María Oddsdóttir, a renal nurse working in the Intensive Care and Dialysis Unit at Akureyri Hospital (SAk), is now holding clinic appointments for renal patients every other Wednesday in odd-numbered weeks.

Initially, the clinic will serve patients belonging to the dialysis and pre-dialysis groups, and the work is carried out in close collaboration with nephrologists at Landspítali University Hospital (LSH) and other specialists from SAk’s internal medicine department. Nephrologists from LSH visit SAk approximately every three months and currently attend only to patients undergoing hemodialysis.
It is possible to contact the health information specialists of Unit L or Jóhanna directly if messages need to be forwarded to the clinic.
We are very pleased with this valuable addition to the services available for renal patients.
