7th September 2026
Ólína Einarsdóttir has joined Akureyri Hospital as a specialist in neurology.

Ólína graduated with a medical degree from the University of Debrecen in Hungary. During her studies, she worked at Akureyri Hospital, and after graduating, she also worked at the healthcare centres in Dalvík and Hlíð.
Ólína later moved to Sweden and began specialist training in neurology in Helsingborg. Since the beginning of 2024, she has worked there as a specialist in neurology, both on the ward and in the outpatient clinic. She has a particular interest in multiple sclerosis (MS) and was involved in establishing an MS team and outpatient clinic in Helsingborg in 2023.
“I am very much looking forward to joining Akureyri Hospital. It is exciting to have the opportunity to establish a neurology outpatient clinic and strengthen neurological services in North Iceland, while also contributing to the hospital’s wider work. I am especially looking forward to collaborating with the staff and developing high-quality services for the future,” says Ólína.
We warmly welcome Ólína to Akureyri Hospital.
