Friends of SAk donate furniture to the Department of Internal Medicine

Friends of Akureyri Hospital have donated chairs and sofas to the inpatient ward of Akureyri Hospital. Akureyri Hospital has launched the project “Let’s Move,” which aims to improve the environment and encourage patients to be more active within the hospital. In support of this initiative, the Friends have donated chairs that help create better conditions for movement. They have also given the ward sofas, providing staff with an opportunity to rest their tired feet during the busy days — and nights.
“The Friends are, of course, exceptional and extremely valuable to us at Akureyri Hospital. A gift like this improves conditions for both our staff and our patients, and for that we are very grateful,” says Sólveig Hulda Valgeirsdóttir, head of the Internal Medicine Ward at Akureyri Hospital.
