The campaign focuses on the balance between work and personal life, the strong team spirit within the hospital, and the quality of life that Akureyri has to offer.

As part of the campaign, interviews have been conducted with doctors currently working at SAk. They share their experiences of the workplace, the sense of unity among colleagues, the challenges and opportunities of the job, and explain why Akureyri is an ideal place to work as a physician. The interviews will be published on the SAk website and shared regularly on social media over the coming weeks.

“We want to demonstrate how strong a professional environment SAk offers for doctors, and how important it is to find the right balance between a demanding career and quality of life outside of work,” says Ragnheiður Halldórsdóttir, Medical Director.

Alongside the publication of the interviews, advertisements will appear on social media, emphasizing SAk’s unique working environment and the quality of life in Akureyri.

In October, a working group appointed by the Minister of Health will visit Icelandic doctors living in the Nordic countries. The group will present working conditions for doctors in Iceland, particularly in light of the new collective wage agreement, as well as in a broader context. A representative from SAk will join the group to introduce the hospital’s dynamic work environment and the strong community infrastructure that Akureyri provides.

With this campaign, SAk aims to strengthen its position as an attractive workplace for doctors and to encourage professionals to find balance in the north.
