Connection corridor: Work in progress

Work on the connecting corridor of the Akureyri Hospital is well underway, and the most optimists say that it will be put into use in April. These days, glass walls are being installed, work is being done on final finishing, e.g. air conditioning, wiring, drapery, system air and painting. Next come the interiors and technical equipment.
The connecting corridor is on the third floor of the hospital and connects the maternity ward with the children's ward, the connecting corridor will also house a new and more spacious simulation center and the entire staff of the education and science department will move to the corridor. The corridor will also have a new and elegant lecture space, several meeting rooms and a number of offices.
"We have been waiting a long time for the connecting corridor, which will be a necessary addition to the hospital premises. I have previously hoped that the annual meeting would be held in the connecting corridor, but now it should work out," says Hildigunnur Svavarsdóttir.
