Grants from the SAk's Science Fund are awarded once a year. It is allocated according to the recommendations of the Scientific Council of the Akureyri Hospital. ISK 6,412,200 was allocated.

This time, the following five projects received funding:

  • The Icelandic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy project: A genetic recall study.

  • Prevalence of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) among 4-8 Years old Children in the General Population

  • Use of psychotropic drugs by women during pregnancy, in the recording area of HSN in the years 2020-2022

  • Comparison of burnout, stress and coping strategies between nurses in emergency departments and in primary care
