Management of seed operations in Gunnarsholt

Land and Forest is looking for a full-time worker to supervise seed production in Gunnarsholt. Supervision of seed production plant and planting in Gunnarsholt. Among the projects are seed production for land reclamation and forestry, supervision of supply and distribution of seed and plants from Gunnarsholt, care in seed production plant, sowing, fertilizer distribution, planting and harvesting work.
Land and Forest Iceland is seeking qualified individuals to join our team and contribute to the development and preservation of vegetation resources in Iceland. Our goal is to promote sustainable land use practices that bring economic, environmental, and social benefits. Currently, we have a full-time position available for a dedicated staff member to oversee seed production and processing in Gunnarsholt.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Supervision of the seed processing plant and plant groves in Gunnarsholt.
Processing of seeds for land reclamation and forestry projects.
Supervision of supplies and distribution of seed and plants from Gunnarsholt.
Management of the seed processing plant.
Sowing, fertiliser distribution, planting and harvesting.
Other tasks that might arise.
Essential Qualifications
Relevant training and education.
Working machinery rights for tractors (I) and lifting machines (J).
Computer skills and proficiency in major Microsoft applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Icelandic; foreign language proficiency is advantageous.
Planning abilities and the capacity to thrive in high-pressure situations.
Ability to disseminate information effectively.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in project management and quality control.
Experience in land reclamation, forestry, or land farming.

Pay according to the current wage agreement concluded between the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and the relevant union.
