Summer positions at Land and Forest Iceland

Land and Forest Iceland is seeking staff for full-time summer positions involving research and monitoring activities. The work may involve extensive outdoor fieldwork across the country. Appointments are primarily planned for duty stations in North Iceland, East Iceland and the Capital Region. The application deadline is 5 February.

Main duties and responsibilities
Assisting with research and monitoring activities.
Working on ecological research projects.
Fieldwork related to monitoring land condition, including research in dryland, wetlands and forest ecosystems.
The positions may involve significant travel throughout Iceland, extensive outdoor work, long working days and periods away from the office. Recruitment is planned, among other locations, for offices in North Iceland, East Iceland and the Capital Region.
Qualifications
Punctuality, responsibility and a service-oriented approach are required.
A driving licence for a manual transmission vehicle is desirable; experience driving modified vehicles under difficult conditions is an advantage.
Applicants must have completed at least the first year of university studies in natural sciences or related fields.
Background knowledge in plant identification, soil science or forestry is an advantage.
Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure is required.
Experience of outdoor activities is an advantage.
