Here you can send sensitive documents to HSU through a secure data portal. Sensitive documents refer to documents containing personal data.

Fill them out carefully and scan them on a smart device (computer/phone) and send the completed data here via an electronic data portal under the group medical record data.
Make an appointment with a doctor to review the data if you were not given an appointment last time.
It is necessary to submit the data 3 days before the next doctor's appointment.
Below, you can enter information regarding a travel reimbursement certificate. The information will be forwarded to the relevant physician for further processing. Processing time is 2 to 3 business days. The travel certificate will be sent electronically to the HSU reception office in Vestmannaeyjar.
Please keep the following information in mind when applying for medical certificates related to travel expenses.
The condition for approval of travel expense reimbursement is that a physician in the patient's home community has referred the individual for necessary medical treatment.
Approval of an accompanying person for an adult patient is based on a physician's assessment that the patient is unable to travel independently.
The certificate must be collected from and paid for at an HSU reception office and then submitted to Iceland Health Insurance (Sjúkratryggingar) in Vestmannaeyjar (Heiðarvegur 15). Receipts for travel expenses and proof of attendance (from a physician, diagnostic imaging department, or other healthcare provider) must also be submitted.
A deductible of ISK 1,500 is applied to all travel expenses; otherwise, the fare is reimbursed in full.
Herjólfur Ferry: Vestmannaeyjar – Þorlákshöfn or Þorlákshöfn – Vestmannaeyjar
Reimbursement is provided for the patient and, when applicable, an accompanying person.
Reimbursement covers the vehicle, cabin, and 51 km of travel (102 km for a round trip).
Bus travel is also reimbursed when applicable.
Herjólfur Ferry: Vestmannaeyjar – Landeyjahöfn or Landeyjahöfn – Vestmannaeyjar
Reimbursement is provided for the patient and, when applicable, an accompanying person.
Reimbursement covers the vehicle and 134 km of travel (268 km for a round trip).
Bus travel is also reimbursed when applicable.
Flights: Vestmannaeyjar – Reykjavík or Reykjavík – Vestmannaeyjar

A representative of the psychological services is part of the interdisciplinary mental health team, and psychologists provide therapy to clients upon referral from a case manager.
Individual and group therapy is offered, and psychologists also participate in joint educational initiatives.
Referral for Psychological Services
A doctor at the healthcare center sends a referral for psychological services.
Psychologist Services
Children and adolescents referred to psychological services are promptly offered an assessment interview, during which their difficulties are mapped out and the most appropriate intervention is evaluated. For children aged 12 years and younger, parents are sent assessment questionnaires, and the assessment interview is usually conducted by telephone.
Older children attend the assessment interview together with their parents. Services available through the HSU Psychology Team may include individual sessions providing specialized psychological treatment, group therapy (for example, Help for Anxious Children), remote therapy (Flikk), consultation sessions, and/or psychoeducation. If a child's difficulties are considered better suited to support from another service provider, the referrer or parents are guided regarding the next steps.
HSU psychologists work closely with other healthcare professionals, municipal specialists, and institutions that provide support and treatment for children's mental health difficulties.
HSU psychologists participate in screening for developmental concerns in children up to three years of age in collaboration with child health services. However, they do not otherwise conduct developmental assessments. Psychologists are also part of HSU's ADHD team, Focus for the Future (Fókus til framtíðar), where they assist in selecting appropriate treatment options and contribute to parent education and guidance.
