Ingibjörg Rafnsdóttir is the Director of Human Resources.

The Director of Human Resources is involved in the preparation of collective bargaining agreements as appropriate and oversees the development and implementation of institutional agreements. The Human Resources Department and the Payroll Department fall under the Director of Human Resources.

Employee health and safety also fall under the HR division and include, among other things, health promotion, attendance management, employee safety, and occupational health and safety.

Sigurður Böðvarsson is the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

The CMO is responsible for medical services within the institution. The CMO supports the professional development of medical practice and physicians, and also promotes the professional development of other healthcare professions in collaboration with other executive directors. The Chief Medical Officer serves as a liaison with other healthcare institutions and external partners on matters relating to medical practice and physicians.

Baldvina Ýr Hafsteinsdóttir is Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for nursing services within the institution. The CNO supports the professional development of nursing practice and the career development of nurses, midwives, and nursing assistants, and also promotes the professional development of other healthcare professions in collaboration with other executive directors. The Chief Nursing Officer serves as a liaison with other healthcare institutions and external partners on matters relating to nursing.

Margrét Björk Svavarsdóttir is the Chief Financial Officer.

The CFO oversees the finances of Heilbrigðisstofnun Suðurlands (HSU). This includes financial management and budgetary authorizations, maintaining expenditure and revenue accounts, and collecting receivables. The CFO leads the Finance Department.

The Finance Department is responsible for accounting, prepares monthly financial statements, and produces the annual financial report. The division also handles the collection, processing, and dissemination of clinical and financial information. It's responsibilities further include procurement processes, contract management, purchasing, inventory control, and security matters.
