Service fees
Payments for the services of the Healthcare Institution of North Iceland are determined by the Ministry of Health in regulations and by the HSN Executive board for other services than healthcare.
Service fees vary depending on health insurance.
Health care service fees

In addition to arrival fees, health insured persons pay for vaccinations at the health center (per dose) according to the service fees that is updated monthly. Payments for vaccines do not go into the rebate fund.
This part of the tariff is updated monthly, within three working days from the end of the month.

Vaccination for seasonal influenza is free of charge for those in the specified risk groups.
Regular vaccinations are not paid for in children's health care.

Certificates requiring additional doctor time:
For certificates like termination of pregnancy and sterilization, or applications for disability benefits to pension funds: ISK 6,469 per started 20 minutes.
For certificates to lawyers, insurance companies, police, magistrates, residence/work permits, or detailed health certificates for third-party requests (school, employer, seaman's certificate): ISK 17,547 for the first hour, then ISK 5,849 per started 20 minutes.
Payments for certificates do not go to the discount fund.
Health insurance pays 90% of the total fee upon presentation of a request for physical therapy. Physiotherapy can be provided to insured persons without a request, a maximum of 6 times a year (applies only to trainers who have a contract with SÍ).

Fees for a medical certificate are based on the time it takes a doctor; ISK 9,209 must be paid for each started 20 minutes
ISK 6,558 must be paid for each visit to a laboratory for examination or for examination of a sample sent to a laboratory, plus 100% of the agreed or determined total price upon arrival
ISK 6,558 must be paid for each visit for X-ray and imaging, plus 100% of the agreed or determined total price upon arrival
For necessary interpreting services, the patient must pay the full fee according to the Government Purchase service provider’s contract for interpreting services
