International Day of occupational therapy
27th October 2025
Congratulations on the day, all occupational therapists!

Occupational therapy is a relatively young profession in Iceland but has been growing rapidly.
Occupational therapists aim to “promote occupation, participation, health, and well-being of individuals, groups, and communities,” as stated on the website of the Icelandic Occupational Therapy Association.
They work with people of all ages who, for various reasons, face challenges that limit or prevent participation in daily life.
Occupational therapists are active across society, including in health and social services, schools, NGOs, non-profit organizations, public administration, and private sector companies.
At HSN, seven occupational therapists work in various departments across the institution.
We congratulate all occupational therapists on their day and thank them for their important work.
