This fall, Advania completed the installation of a new data center in Akureyri in collaboration with atNorth. According to Ólaf Helga Haraldsson, head of operational solutions at Advania, the data center was designed specifically in accordance with the requirements for data security with the possibility of mirroring between parts of the country. Customers therefore have the choice of dual services between parts of the country, which increases data security, improves access to services and minimizes the risk of natural disasters. This is important to ensure that data is secure and accessible at any time.

Dual connectivity in a data center is considered particularly important for technology infrastructure in the healthcare sector.

"Ensuring the information security of clients is a priority of HSN. The introduction of a new data center in the region is an important factor in protecting data against unforeseen events or failures, but also maximizes performance and eases access. We now have a connection to Advania's data centers in two parts of the country, and this facilitates the recovery of data, strengthens the regulatory framework and gives the opportunity to expand the infrastructure without much effort," says Þórhallur Harðarson, Chief Executive of Finance and Support Depertments at HSN.

"Sustainability and efficiency in operation also play a role. This initiative is a sign of our dedication to providing safe, reliable and efficient healthcare services," says Þórhallur.
