HSN Science and Education Day held for the first time on 20 May 2026

13th April 2026

The Healthcare Institution of North Iceland (HSN) will host a Science and Education Day for the first time on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The event will be held in the Hamrar hall at the Hof Cultural and Conference Centre in Akureyri and will begin at 12:30 p.m.

The Science and Education Day provides a forum for healthcare professionals and students in the field to learn about the latest research and solutions, share knowledge, and strengthen professional collaboration.

“The Science and Education Day is an important step in fostering professional collaboration and knowledge sharing within the healthcare system,” says Guðný Friðriksdóttir, Director of Nursing. “By creating a platform where professionals and students come together to share experience, present research, and discuss the future—particularly the role of technology—we are strengthening the foundation for the continued development of services for the benefit of society.”

The programme will be diverse and informative, featuring engaging presentations and discussions. HSN professionals will present projects and research addressing various aspects of HSN’s work and services, including psychosocial services, services for older people, digital health, the development of interprofessional teamwork, and more. The day will conclude with a panel discussion entitled “Opportunities in Service Development through the Use of Technology,” focusing on the future of healthcare and the role of technology in its development.

The event is open to all healthcare professionals and students in the field, free of charge. The moderator for the day will be actress María Pálsdóttir.

Further information on the programme and registration is available on the HSN website.
