We are pleased to announce that Arna Rún Óskarsdóttir, a geriatrician has been hired at HSN. Arna Rún has extensive experience, has worked for many years as a geriatrician at the Akureyri Hospital and has been a director of rehabilitation and geriatric medicine. She has also been chair of the region's Skills and Health Assessment Committee for many years. She will work with home nursing services in Akureyri, be involved in HSN’s nursing departments in Blönduós, Sauðárkrókur, Fjallabyggð and Húsavík and provide staff with advice. Arna Rún will start working at HSN this summer.

“The number of elderly people is increasing in HSN’s area as elsewhere. Nursing departments and home nursing staff at HSN work hard for the benefit of elderly people who live at home despite health problems and reduced skills. My role will include working with home nursing staff to further develop and improve services for this group of elderly people with the goal of improving their quality of life and their ability to self-sufficiency.”
