The annual report of HSN 2023 was presented at the meeting and the annual financial statements reviewed. The year was a good one for the institution and it was operated with a surplus of 36 million. Even though HSN is facing challenges in staffing, like other healthcare institutions, the institution is extremely lucky with staff who are generally very dedicated and provide exemplary service. In 2023, the institution continued its journey in implementing electronic processes and promoting welfare technology.

Overall, the year was a success, surveys show that the people of the region trust the institution well and many goals have been achieved. The Executive Board looks forward with optimism. In 2024, there have been many important projects, such as policy making and the move to a new health clinic in Akureyri, and the institution will celebrate its tenth anniversary. The Executive Board thanks the staff for their cooperation and good work in the interest of the people of North Iceland in 2023.
