The psychological services of the Healthcare Institution of Iceland will hold a basic course in cognitive behavioral therapy (HAM) at the Healthcare Institution in Egilsstaðir. The course starts on Wednesday 20 March and is one week for six weeks.

Restrictions on visits to the hospital ward

Due to several influenza infections that have been reported, visits are limited. They are only permitted in consultation with the head of faculty or his/her deputy. Grim duty is a requirement for all visiting guests.

In the survey, Institution of the Year, which measures staff satisfaction with their workplace, Health East Iceland ranks as the highest healthcare institution nationwide for the second year in a row.

Encouraging measles vaccination

Measles infection has recently occurred in Iceland. If you believe you or your children have measles, you can call 1700 or contact Healthcare's online forum and we will advise you with your next steps. Note that if the infection is suspected, no clinic or hospital should be established due to the risk of group transmission. The National Health Service encourages parents to ensure that children are vaccinated against measles if you have any questions, call 1700 or your local health centre.

Donation to the rehabilitation ward

The HSA Rehabilitation Unit in Neskaupstaður received a gift in memory of Anna Þóra Árnadóttir, a physiotherapist who worked at the Institute for many years. This is a Bobath class, which is a dual therapy class.

Cancer screening - Free times

The East Iceland Healthcare Authority encourages women who have received invitations to breast screening to make appointments between 470-1430. The screening ends at noon tomorrow, Thursday 26 October and there are still free classes in Eskifriður.
