Þórarna Gró appointed Director General of the East Iceland Health Institute

Minister of Health Alma D. Möller has appointed Þórörna Gró Friðjónsdóttir as Director General of the East Iceland Health Institute for the next five years, starting on October 1st. The Advisory Qualifications Committee found Þórörna to be very well qualified to hold the position. The appointment is in accordance with Article 9 of the Health Services Act.
The Ministry of Health's service says:
Thórarna has worked at the Eastern Iceland Health Institute (HSA) since 2018, first as Operations Manager and later as Human Resources Manager. Since June 1, 2018, Þórarna has led the institute as Acting CEO.
Þórarna has a Master's degree in Corporate Finance, a B.S. degree in Psychology and has also completed a 60-credit undergraduate diploma in Education and Training from the University of Iceland.
The qualifications committee's review, on the other hand, notes Þórarna's extensive knowledge of public finances, knowledge of public administration and long-standing experience in the field of operations and human resources management.
