The Eastern Iceland Health Institute employs 11 physiotherapists who carry out a variety of tasks throughout HSA's operations, including rehabilitation departments in Egilsstaðir and Neskaupstaður, health centers and nursing homes.
The work of physiotherapists is diverse, but they support people in improving their mobility, strength, balance and skills, reducing pain and promoting an increased quality of life. They care for people of all ages and in different situations – from rehabilitation after illness, surgery or accident to maintaining skills and independence for the long term.
