arenting that works - skills for the future
2nd October 2025
It is noteworthy that the parenting course Parenting That Works – Skills for the Future is now available to parents across the country.
The course focuses on discussing ways to be a partner in parenting and create desirable parenting conditions. The goal is to promote skills that are likely to be of benefit to the child in the long term. Parents learn methods to strengthen their own abilities, elicit desirable behavior in the child, and prevent difficulties in a positive way. The courses have been held for years with good success. The course is specifically developed for parents of children in Iceland, using recognized theory and evidence-based methods. The authors of the course are Gyða Haraldsdóttir, PhD in Psychology, and Lone Jensen, developmental therapist.
We encourage you to take advantage of this great opportunity to strengthen your parenting role.
