The team provides services for individuals serving prison sentences. The team serves all prisons nationwide.

The Prison mental health team provides general mental health services, including assessment and treatment of mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and ADHD.

The service is multidisciplinary and is delivered through:

• Visits to prisons

• Telephone consultations

• Online consultations

The team also refers individuals to other mental health services as needed.

The composition of the team’s professional disciplines may vary at any given time. It may contain psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, and occupational therapists.

The team works collaborates with other healthcare professionals within the prisons , social services, and grassroots organizations concerned with the welfare of people during and after incarceration.
