We encourage the country’s reading heroes to scour the public library and take part in saving people and weirdos from danger. This is done by reading a bunch of books, playing a fun board game that challenges vocabulary and logical thinking, and thus climbing the hero scale. Readers aged 6-12 are encouraged to participate, but of course, all interested bookworms can participate!

The team was led by the team of visual and writing writer Bergrún Íris Sævarsdóttir and the theatre designer Steingerður Lóa Gunnarsdóttir, and by Ingibjörg Ösp Óttarsdóttir, project manager for children and young people at City Library. The staff of The Directorate of Education and School Services was responsible for the processing, printing and distribution. Other partners are the Ministry of Education and Children, The national parent’s accosiation, the Association of Directors of Public Libraries, the Association of School Librarians and the City of Literature – UNESCO.
