Updated organisational structure of the Icelandic Transport Authority

An updated organisational structure of the Icelandic Transport Authority came into effect on 1 May.

The structure supports the Authority’s key role and future strategy and is intended to strengthen professional accountability, clarify responsibilities and improve coordination.

Support functions are now brought together under the Office of the Director General, and the former Administration Division is discontinued as a separate unit. Staffing levels at the Icelandic Transport Authority remain unchanged, while responsibilities and tasks are reallocated in line with the new structure.

The updated organisational chart reflects these changes, as well as developments within the Authority over the past year. It lays the foundation for clearer working practices and a working environment that supports strong and effective service to society.
