The Technology Development Fund's final evaluation round in the Seed and Development Seed categories
Applications for the Technology Development Fund's Seed (Fræ) and Development Seed (Þróunarfræ) grant categories will close on Monday 9 November 2026 at 15:00. This is the final evaluation round of the year and also the last before the Innovation Fund takes over at the turn of the year.
In recent years, Fræ (Seed) and Þróunarfræ (Development Seed) grants have been open for applications all year round, with applications assessed at regular intervals. Applications received before the final deadline of 9 November will undergo the standard assessment process, and funding decisions are expected in early December.
On 1 January 2027, a new Act on Public Support for Science and Innovation, No. 54/2026, will enter into force, under which the Innovation Fund will take over the role of the Technology Development Fund and the Student Innovation Fund. In connection with these changes, Fræ and Þróunarfræ will close to new applications once the application deadline has passed.
