The School of Paramedicine Receives New Training Manikins

The School of Paramedicine recently acquired three new specialized training manikins, which will be very useful in the school’s work.

“Their greatest advantage is that they are well suited for both skills training and simulation-based teaching. They are easy to handle, which makes it possible to set up realistic training scenarios almost anywhere,” says Sigurjón Valmundsson, project manager at the patient transport school. He adds, “For example, it is possible to place the ‘patient’ in different environments, whether inside an apartment, a car, or anywhere else. Treatment can begin there, followed by preparation and initiation of transport into the ambulance, and continued care—just as it happens in real life. This allows us to create realistic training conditions, which is incredibly valuable,” says Sigurjón
