The outdoor rules

The children and adolescents' time spent outdoors will change on May 1.

From that time, children aged 12 and younger may be outside until 10 pm. 13 to 16 year olds may be outside until 12 pm.

Children may not be in public outside the said time unless accompanied by an adult. The rules for the latter group may be changed when adolescents are returning from an approved school, sports or youth gathering. Age is based on the year of birth.

Parents and guardians may of course reduce this time and set rules for their children regarding shorter time spent outdoors. The rules for outdoor activities are according to the Child Protection Act. They are intended to ensure, among other things, that children and adolescents have enough sleep, which is essential. The need for sleep is individual, but it can be assumed that children and adolescents aged in elementary school need 10 hours sleep a night. It is important to follow through on children and adolescents getting enough sleep. This includes checking that they are not on the phone or computer when they are supposed to be in bed.
