The Icelandic Transport Authority signs a working arrangement with the Civil Aviation Administration of China
On 19 May, the Icelandic Transport Authority received a delegation from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to sign a working arrangement in the field of aviation.

Mr. Hu Zhenjiang (CAAC) and Ms. Kristin Helga Markusdottir (ICETRA).
The arrangement covers cooperation on airworthiness and environmental certification of aircraft, as well as related products, parts and equipment, in addition to the approval of design and production organisations.
This is the first arrangement of its kind between Icelandic and Chinese aviation authorities. The Icelandic Transport Authority has previously concluded similar arrangements with the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Japan.
Through this arrangement, cooperation between the Icelandic Transport Authority and CAAC is strengthened in a manner comparable to the cooperation between the European Union, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and CAAC.

The arrangement enables, among other things, EASA-approved design organisations (DOA) in Iceland to obtain approvals for design, modifications and repairs more easily in China. This creates improved conditions for Icelandic companies to offer their services and design solutions to Chinese operators.
The arrangement provides for cooperation and recognition in the field of airworthiness and certification, in line with established practices between EASA and CAAC, thereby fostering increased mutual trust in airworthiness and aviation safety.
