Sign language teachers' seminar in Portugal

The European Network of Sign Language Teachers (ENSLT) symposium in cooperation with AFOMOS, the Portuguese sign language teachers' association, was held in Porto in May. Eight sign language teachers from Iceland, Portugal, Italy and Germany attended the symposium. Amongst them were three teachers from SHH, Júlía G. Hreinsdóttir, Uldis Ozols and Viktorija Dovydaité.

Eight sign language teachers from Iceland, Portugal, Italy and Germany attended the symposium. Amongst them were three teachers from SHH, Júlía G. Hreinsdóttir, Uldis Ozols and Viktorija Dovydaité.

The seminar was entitled Sign Language Hybrid Teaching and Teaching Co-ordinator. The role of the principal was discussed as well as new teaching methods, including mixed teaching, which includes both distance teaching and on-campus teaching.

The resulting discussions were very inspirational and Viktorija, Uldis and Juliet agreed on the importance of keeping up with rapid development of teaching methods.
