Results of counting in the referendum held 29 August 2026

The National Electoral Commission has received vote counting reports from all Senior Electoral Commissions of Constituencies regarding the referendum held on 29 August 2026.

The number of registered voters was 272.591. A total of 225.031 votes were cast, resulting in a voter turnout of 82,6%.

Pursuant to Article 107 of the Elections Act No. 112/2021, the result of the vote count is hereby announced as follows:

Valid votes: 223.379 votes

Total blank and invalid ballots: 1.652 ballots

Blank ballots: 897

Invalid ballots: 755

Distribution of votes

Yes: 105.339 - 47,2%

No: 118.040 - 52,8%

The number of registered voters is published subject to any corrections made to the electoral register following its publication on 24 July 2026.

The National Electoral Commission will announce when it convenes to adjudicate disputed ballots and formally declare the election results, in accordance with Article 120 of the Elections Act. Attention is drawn to the fact that the Commission's ruling may affect the final number of valid votes.
