Representatives of 49 projects offered grants totalling ISK 803 million in the 2026 spring allocation of the Technology Development Fund

The Board of the Technology Development Fund has approved offering representatives of 49 projects to enter into agreements for new grants in the fund's spring 2026 allocation. The total amount of grants for new projects is ISK 803 million.

The Board of the Technology Development Fund has approved offering representatives of 49 projects to enter into agreements for new grants in the fund's spring 2026 allocation. The total amount of grants for new projects is ISK 803 million.

A total of 373 applications were received for the grant categories, and 49 projects have been selected for grant negotiations. The success rate of funded projects compared to the number of applications is therefore 13%.

For the 2026 allocation, the following grant categories were advertised:

  • Sprout

  • Growth

  • Market Development

  • Market Access

  • Applied Research Projects

Grants for new projects total ISK 803 million. As the projects can run for up to three years, the fund's total commitment for them amounts to ISK 1,595 million. The fund is financed by the Ministry of Culture, Innovation and Higher Education.

The allocation from the Seed grant category had previously been announced (in Icelandic).

The project managers of the projects selected for grants will be contacted and invited to a contract meeting.

The projects selected for grants reflect the diversity of Icelandic innovation and include, among others, health technology, artificial intelligence, sustainable food production, energy transition, software solutions, biotechnology, and environmental technology.
