Referendum information brochure

The National Electoral Commission is obliged under the Elections Act to provide comprehensive public information on the matter being submitted to a referendum.

The National Electoral Commission has published the information brochure “Hvað viltu vita?” about the matter, and distribution has now begun. The brochure will be delivered to all households in the country over the coming weeks.

In the referendum, voters will be asked whether Iceland should resume accession negotiations with the European Union. The response options on the ballot will be yes and no.

The brochure seeks to explain, in an accessible manner, various aspects of the referendum and the implications of each response option.
