Pre-announcement: Grants for research projects in the field of ageing

The Health Research Fund of the Icelandic Ministry of Health will launch a new call for proposals in August 2026, with a special focus on ageing research. The initiative aims to strengthen research that advances knowledge and innovation in healthy ageing and age-related health challenges.

The Health Research Fund is a competitive funding programme that supports research across the full spectrum of health sciences, from basic biomedical research to public health and clinical research. The Fund is administered by Rannís on behalf of the Ministry of Health.

The Fund expects to award five one-year research grants, with a maximum funding amount of ISK 20 million per project.
