Online fraud – Facebook Messenger

The fraud is described as a message sent by friends or acquaintances asking for a phone number.

Afterwards people are informed that they have won a prize in a Facebook game and have to confirm the winning with electronic ID. In this way people let the offenders access their bank accounts with consequences.

The rule of thumb is therefore to EVERYONE send their phone number via Facebook Messenger and EVERYONE accept electronic identification at the request of someone else.
