New Chief Medical Officer in Rangárþing

Bjarni Valtýsson has been appointed as Chief Medical Officer of Rangárþing and began his work on September 1.
Bjarni completed his studies at the University of Iceland Medical School in 1983 and received a specialist qualification in the anesthesia and intensive care medicine in 1989. He has worked in hospitals both in Iceland and abroad. In addition, he has worked in private clinics in Reykjavík. Bjarni has worked in specialized pain management for decades.
In the past few years he has worked regularly at the health clinic in Rangárþing as a health care doctor.
