New arrangements for the processing of certificates in the maritime sector

In the coming days and weeks, a change will be introduced to the procedures for processing work permits, visas for foreign work permits, exemptions, deadlines for accident prevention schools, sea travel books, certificates of seaworthiness and other shipping related processing. After the changes, it will be possible to complete payment alongside the completion of an electronic application form. The aim of these changes is to simplify the application process for the applicant and shorten the processing time at the Icelandic Transport Authority with regards to invoicing and receipts to customers.
