Minister of Health Alma Möller visits HSN

Yesterday, the Minister of Health, Alma Möller, visited the Healthcare Institution of North Iceland (HSN) with Eydís Ásbjörnsdóttir, MP for the Northeast Region, and Jón Magnús Kristjánsson, assistant to the Minister of Health.

HSN visit

The visit began with a meeting with the HSN executive board, where various issues concerning the institution's operations were discussed. Subsequeantly, managers from the Akureyri Health Center (HAk) joined the meeting, along with Alice Harpa, Head of Psychosocial Services at HSN, and Lilja Sif, Social Worker and Project Manager for Implementation at HSN Akureyri.

Alice Harpa reviewed the psychosocial services, which consist of four teams: children's psychological services, adult psychological services, children's mental health team, and adult mental health team. Lilja Sif presented the implementation of teamwork, which has been showing good results and has been ongoing over the past year at the Akureyri Healthcare Center.

After the meeting, the guests were given a tour of the health center, which opened a year ago, and it was clear that they were impressed with the excellent facilities.

"We are very pleased with the continued good cooperation between HSN and the ministry. Support and understanding of HSN's projects are key to improving healthcare services in North Iceland. We look forward to the future and aim to further strengthen the services," said Jón Helgi Björnsson, CEO of HSN.
