Lífsbrú – Center of Suicide Prevention and Lífsbrú - Fund operates within the Directorate of Health. More information about the aims, characteristics and projects of Lífsbrú can be found on the Directorate of Health's website.

With the introduction of Lífsbrú, a name and identity are given to the targeted work on suicide prevention. The prevention measures are more constrained, formalised, and made more visible, similar to other health-promoting approaches at the Directorate of Health in Iceland.
