Lawyer Position in Akureyri

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Handling of administrative cases in the field of salmon and trout fishing and fisheries management.

• Legal advice within the Directorate of Fisheries.

• Communication with other authorities, institutions, and stakeholders.

• Participation in the creation and development of work processes and the implementation of digital administration.

• Other legal tasks within the agency's field of work.

Qualification requirements

• BA degree in Law along with a Master's degree or a professional degree (Cand.Jur or ML) in Law.

• Knowledge and experience of public administration and administrative law is a requirement.

• Knowledge and experience in fisheries management and/or salmon and trout fishing is an advantage.

• Initiative and independence in solving tasks.

• Good analytical skills.

• Independence, precision, and discipline in work methods.

• Good communication skills and tact in interpersonal relations.

• Very good proficiency in expressing oneself in spoken and written Icelandic is a requirement.

• Good proficiency in English.
