Ísland.is is nominated in the category UT - Digital Public Service 2023, but simplicity and good accessibility characterize Ísland.is despite the complex interaction of several public bodies both content-wise as well as technically. More than 250 people are behind Ísland.is in the community and disseminated to the project, but such a project requires great discipline to make sure everyone works towards the same goal. The District Commissioners have carried out numerous projects such as electronic registrations, pre-registration of passports, digital estates, etc. This work results in increased efficiency and service. In addition, 25 institutions and public projects have moved their websites to Ísland.is and another one-in-a-kind number have already started implementation. Behind Ísland.is is also an application system that talks to My pages and the Ísland.is app, and service pages that support common user questions, a chatter that resolves user queries. Ísland.is brings people directly to the service they are looking for and more and more public services can be completed in full in self-service.

Digital Iceland will also have a booth during the conference day and the Technology day , which is open to the public. Digital Iceland staff will welcome guests and answer questions about the digital journey of the public sector. The technology day will occur on Saturday 3rd of February from 10-16 in Harpa.
