Great attendance at Connecting the State 2025
There was great attendance at this year's Connecting the State event, which took place on 18th of September at Hilton Nordica, as well as streaming.

The conference, titled “Digital leadership during turbulent times”, was a very popular event. The conference was opened by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, who welcomed over 400 people to the event.
Representatives from Digital Iceland spoke strongly on the theme of the day, as security of data and data communications are on people’s minds these days. There were also some interesting talks from the police, the courts, and the national election commission, which are key institutions when it comes to security and democracy in the country. Between the talks, short case studies were shown where users of Ísland.is’ digital solutions shared their experiences. The guests enjoyed a greeting video from Valerya Ionan, one of the key advisers to the Ukrainian government.
The conference’s agenda ended with Digital Steps of Institutions, where recognition was given to institutions that have taken Digital Steps over the last year in collaboration with Digital Iceland.
Seven institutions were invited to the event this year, with six or more being awarded.
On the morning of the conference day, four workshops were held on the Ísland.is Service System, a joint vision on the holistic use of data, the quality of the content on Ísland.is the vision of digital public services. The workshops were very well attended and an important contribution to the digital development that is ahead for the work ahead.
Connecting the State is the annual conference of Digital Iceland, where the digital future of the public sector is the topic.
