Graduation ceremony of the School of Emergency Medical Services 2026

The graduation ceremony of the School of Emergency Medical Services was held at the Icelandic Aviation Museum at Akureyri Airport on 29 May.

Basic EMT graduates who attended the graduation ceremony.

A total of 265 students graduated during the most recent academic year.

  • 92 students

    received their basic qualification as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT).

  • 32 students

    graduated with advanced training as Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMT).

  • 141 students

    completed the Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) field training programme.

Speeches were delivered by Ingimar Eydal, Principal of the School; Hermann Marinó Maggýjarson, AEMT Programme Coordinator and Paramedic; Dagmar Lillja Hreiðarsdóttir, newly graduated EMT student; and Henrike Stuhff, newly graduated AEMT student. Attendance was excellent, and the atmosphere was festive and positive.
