First digital hunting cards issued today
The first digital hunting cards were issued by the Environment Agency of Iceland today.
Today, the Environmental Agency started issuing digital hunting licenses, which until now have been issued as plastic cards. The hunter Harpa Hlín Þórðardóttir, collected the first digital hunting license in the presence of Guðlaug Þór Þórðarson, Minister of the Environment, Energy and Climate and Sigrúna Ágústsdóttir, CEO of the Environment Agency. Also present were representatives from the Hunting Association of Iceland together with persoel from Digital Iceland.
A news item on the Environment Agency's website states that the number of registered hunting card holders is just under 30,000 and that 10-12 thousand people renew their cards every year.
You can download a digital hunting license through my pages on Ísland.is and hopefully also with the Ísland.is app.
