Welcome to Iceland

Many who are interested in visiting Iceland this summer are unsure of entry regulations and to support travelers key institutions have put together a quick guide.

As travels increase after months of Global lock-down different rules and regulations between countries can understandably create uncertainty.

Therefor the Icelandic Government lead by the COVID team of the Prime Ministers Office and Digital Iceland with support from the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Promote Iceland and other key stake holders have put togeather a website where travelers can find a quick guide as well as FAQ. The hope is that these guidelines will help guide those traveling to Iceland though the final decision on entry is in all cases made at the border.

It is important to us to welcome our guests to Iceland at the same time as we are cautious of our safety, but as with the rest of the world there are often long and complicated regulations on who can come and who can not.

Inquiries to key institutions run in thousands and are increasing. Therefore the government of Iceland with key stakeholders in the lead has set up a website with instructions and FAQ. Iceland.is is the Governments central website of information for the Icelandic public and businesses where the aim is to put all information forward in a simple and accessible way and now it has a special platform for guests of Iceland.

The information is also very accessible on mobile phones, which are especially important for people traveling.

The quick guide is an important source of information for tourists although they are only for guidance, and the final decision on entry is in all cases taken at the border.

Check out the Quick guide and FAQ.
