Electronic theoretical motorcycle tests
Electronic testing for theoretical exams for motorcycle licenses (AM/A1/A2/A) began today, April 23. With this step, nearly all theoretical driving tests have been transitioned to an electronic format.

There are two different tests: one for the AM category and one for the A categories.
The tests are designed similarly to other electronic exams. Instead of 30 multiple-choice questions, there are 50 statements that are marked as true or false. Each correct answer awards one point, and the candidate must score 45 points to pass the test.
The test is no longer divided into Part A and Part B, but is instead a single unified exam.
30 of the statements are related to traffic signs, right of way, police signals, etc., while 20 statements are of a general nature.
Tests for the A categories are available in both Icelandic and English, while the AM category test is available in Icelandic only.
With this step, almost all theoretical driving tests have become electronic. The only remaining exception is the test for tractor licenses, which will be moved to electronic format in the coming weeks.
