Early voting starts 17th of April

Voters in Iceland can vote at the offices of District Commissioners and in some municipalities. The opening hours of the early voting can be found here.

Voting abroad

Voters must vote at embassies or consuls in the country concerned. Information on opening hours can be found on websites of embassies and social media. Identification, such as a driver’s license or passport, is required. A list of Icelandic embassies and consuls may be accessed here.

Please note that voters who do not vote at the District Commissioner in their district are responsible for sending their ballots to the municipality where they are registered, e.g. by mail. More information on how to vote can be found here.
