Drone Flights Prohibited Over Downtown Reykjavík During Culture Night

The affected area is marked in blue and red on the map.

• The blue zone will be closed from 07:00 to 15:00 on 22 August 2026 due to the Reykjavík Marathon.

• The red zone will be closed from 07:00 on 22 August 2026 until 06:00 on 23 August 2026 due to Culture Night.

All drone operations within these areas are prohibited during the specified periods unless a special authorisation has been granted by the Chief of Police for the Capital Area.

Requests for exemptions should be sent to the Capital Area Police via email at dronar@lrh.is.

The drone flight restriction is imposed pursuant to Article 3(d) of Regulation No. 1360/2024.
