Drone ban near Grindavik extended

At the request of the Civil Protection Coordination Centre, on behalf of the Police Commissioner in Suðurnes, the previous ban on flights and drone flights has been extended until 15 December. The coordinates of the prohibited area are as follows:

Based on registration and notification requirements, the media will be granted an exemption for drone flights below 60 m above sea level. However, it will not be permitted to fly drones in the area between 18:00 and 07:00. Applications for an exemption shall be made via the e-mail address info@sst.is or by phone at 831-1644 during daytime working hours.
