Digital Iceland negotiates with 26 consultants
Digital Iceland hosted a tenure mid-year 2024 which resulted in an agreement with 26 parties that will support the digitalisation of the public sector in 2025.
Digital Iceland operates under a multi-disciplinary framework agreement regarding the acquisition of software development. Digital Iceland's internal team consists of 12 people who lead the teams covered by the framework agreement in service to public sector entities. Overlay of projects and investments by Digital Iceland is therefore small and to continue to scale rapidly into the public sector system, the approach was to call for independent consultants through a framework agreement and a tender. By bringing consultants to the Digital Iceland community, we ensure continued success and optimization in the most cost-effective way.
Advisors were sought in the spring but the call for tenders was open from June to August. The specialization requirements for consultants were general advice in the field of information technology and digital journey along with project management and on the other hand, advice in the field of technical structure, security, data structure, and technical operation along with project management.
Contracts were awarded to 26 consultants, 16 in part 1 and 15 in part 2, five of whom were covered by both categories. The contract is valid for one year and will be effective with a detailed job description and contract with each consultant when the project is available.
At the beginning of the new year, a briefing will be held with the consultants followed by a course where the key elements of the projects of Activity Iceland will be reviewed.
